Two of the members, Tomoya and Yuya, were competitors in Produce 101 Japan (2019) but they didn't make it to the final line up.
On September 10, 2020, all of THE SAVAGE's SNS accounts was opened. All of its members were revealed on September 17, 2020. The group debuted on September 30, 2020 with a digital single "SunLight Yellow".
