Lim Youngmin (임영민) is currently an idol under Brand New Music. He was a competitor on Produce 101 Season 2. However, he ranked #15 the finale being eliminated and unable to debut with Wanna One.
Career & History
In 2017, after Produce 101, Youngmin debuted as a member of the duo MXM with Produce 101 and Brand New Music trainee Kim Donghyun.
In 2018, he also debuted as a member of the project group YDPP with Kim Donghyun, Jung Sewoon, and Lee Gwanghyun.
Youngmin was confirmed as a member of Brand New Music's new boy group "AB6IX" along with fellow Produce 101 trainees, Kim Donghyun, Park Woojin, and Lee Daehwi. They made their debut on May 22, 2019.
On June 8, Brand New Music announced on AB6IX fan cafe that Lim Youngmin had decided to leave the group.[1] This news comes after Brand New Music announced Youngmin had received a DUI and had his liscence revoked after drinking and then driving.[2] After this was announced, Brand New Music delayed the release of VIVID and the music video for "The Answer". In late June, they finally released the edited music video and album that mostly removed Youngmin and had other members sing/rap his lines. However, the original album was leaked before the edited version was released and some netizens have uploaded the album that have the unedited songs including Youngmin to various places online.
Youngmin then announced that he would be enlisting for his mandatory military service on November 3, 2020 as an active duty soldier and will complete his service on April 11, 2022.
