Lee Gaeun (이가은) is currently an actress/singer under High Entertainment. She was a competitor on Produce 48. She ranked #14 on the finale, being eliminated from the final lineup, and unable to make it into IZ*ONE.
Career & History
Before Produce 48, Gaeun debuted as a member of the girl group After School. She was revealed to the public as the newest member in 2012. There hasn't been much activity from After School since 2015, so it is assuming they are close to disbanding if they have not unofficially disbanded already.
In July of 2019 Pledis released a statement saying they have come to an agreement with Gaeun to not renew her contract. In this statement they stated she and the company had different ideas in her future direction and decided to not renew on good terms. Later in July, she had signed a contract with High Entertainment and began her career as an actress.
On July 12 2019, she released her first solo song titled "Remember You" to express her feelings toward her fans. She also opened a personal YouTube account.
In 2021, she made her debut as an actress in the tvN drama High Class.
Produce 101 Manipulation
Due to the Mnet Vote Manipulation, it was revealed that Gaeun was eliminated when she shouldn't have been. Mnet had changed her rank and votes to eliminate her. It was revealed that her true rank was #5, meaning she would have made it into IZ*ONE.
