Kim Taedong (김태동) is currently a member of the group OMEGA X under SPIRE Entertainment. He was a competitor on Produce 101 Season 2. However, he ranked #30 on episode 10 and was eliminated.
Career & History
Before Produce 101, Taedong was on another debut survival program titled Boys24, but he did not make it to the final lineup.
During Produce 101, Taedong represented The Vibe Label. He even was set to debut as a member of the fan-made project boy group JBJ. However, he cut off contact with his label and requested a termination of contract. From his side, he stated he was mistreated and dropped off from places far from his home, and had to take public transport home. The Agency's side stated that they had not been able to get in touch with Taedong since he changed his number and turned off social media. They also addressed the transport situation stating that all trainees were dropped off and picked up at a station, and reimbursed for public transport. For Taedong, he was dropped off at a station that was closer to his home.
On July 30, 2019 he posted via Instagram that he had signed on with 2Y Entertainment and has plans to debut with them in the near future. He was announced as a member of the upcoming boy group "GIDONGDAE" along with Produce 101 trainees Kim Yehyeon, and Lee Kiwon. The group released a predebut track on June 3, 2020, "Party Like This". Lee Kiwon later confirmed their debut was cancelled.
On March 26, 2021 Taedong was officially revealed as one of 11 members of the upcoming boy group OMEGA X, later debuting with "Vamos" on June 30.
